Dolkar, a young Buddhist woman from Ladakh in the Himalayas wants too play ice hockey. She and her friends tries too make ice to skate on. One big problem is the men in charge of the winter sport club. They don't think women ice hockey is important.

Dolkar is the only one in her family who has been given a chance to study. She studies at the Secmol School. The director of Secmol Wangshuk supports the girls to play ice hockey.

Last year Dolkar and her friends in the Secmol School wanted to play ice hockey, but the men in charge turned them down. So they protested and Dolkar became the girls' leader.

This year the girls want to play again, but they get more troubles: Thin Ice, bad equipment, no coaching. They have to solve problem by problem.

Finally when they find an American backpacker who is asked to be their coach Deb, they travel over the mountain to the Muslim valley: Kargil and join the Kargil girl team. The roads are very dangerous, and the valley is close to the war-troubled areas in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Together the Buddhist and the Muslim girls have to face problems that occur with the men in charge. They fight on the ice and they fight beside the rink. And in everywhere Dolkar is there leader. The men don't like Dolkar and her team, so they change the rules and push the girls around.

After chaos with injustices, boycott and new wild protests, Dolkar's girls decide to perform the last hard match for the bronze. They win the match, sings and cry of joy all the bus travel back to Wangshuk. Buddhist girls and Muslim girls side by side!
